Mission & Vision

CEATI supports and promotes the continuing development of the discipline and profession of Travel Instruction to enable individuals with disabilities (other than vision loss) and seniors to travel in the safest and most autonomous manner possible by:

A. Promoting research to develop a peer-reviewed body of knowledge.

B. Providing forums for the discussion and dissemination of research and standards through publications, newsletters, web sites, and list serves.

C. Organizing conferences and educational opportunities for individuals concerned with Travel Instruction.

D. Developing standards and best practice for the provision of Travel Instruction.

E. Developing personnel preparation programs and a certification system that recognizes and promotes the right of all individuals to receive quality Travel Instruction services.

The Consortium for the Educational Advancement of Travel Instruction promotes the continuing development of the field of Travel Instruction through research, education, advocacy, the development of professional standards, and certification.
